Preparation of EIR/EIS |
EIS: Environmental Impact Statement. Federal environmental document that complies with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Requires identification of impacts and mitigation measures.
EIR: Environmental Impact Report. State environmental document that complies with the California Environmnetal Quality Act (CEQA). The EIR requires identification of project impacts and mitigation.
Gathering of technical information and scientific analysis of the project’s potential impacts on wildlife, noise, traffic, air quality and park resources. [Completed May 2004] |

- Section 7 Biological Opinion Permit to address endangered species impacts for a project; issued by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

- 404 Federal permit to address wetland and streambed impacts; issued by the Army Corps of Engineers.
- 1602 Permit to address streambed and drainage channels, issued by the California Dept. of Fish and Game.

- Section 106 Consultation Approval from the state Historic Preservation Office.
- Coastal Development Permit Coastal Commission approval for project.
- Coastal Consistency Certification Verifies that project meets standards of Coastal Zone Management Act; issued by Coastal Commission. [Coastal Commission voted against certification Feb. 2008. TCA has appealed the decision.]
- 401 Certification Issued by Regional Water Quality Control Board.
